SSI 2017 Lodging and Travel Information

The 2017 SENCER Summer Institute will begin at 4PM on Thursday, August 3rd, and will end at approximately 5PM on Sunday, August 6th.

Participants in other closed pre- and post-Institute meetings will receive invitations in May and June.

Lodging

Participants who require lodging for SSI 2017 will be able to choose from three options:

Hotels

SENCER has arranged discounted group rates at the Hilton Garden Inn Stony Brook hotel and at the Holiday Inn Express Stony Brook-Long Island.

Hilton Garden Inn Stony Brook

Address: 1 Circle Rd, Stony Brook, NY 11790.

The hotel is located on the edge of Stony Brook’s campus.

The rate for this hotel is $189 per night plus taxes.

Free overnight parking is available on the hotel property for guests.

You can make reservations by phone by calling (631) 941-2980 and letting them know you are with the SENCER Summer Institute. The deadline to make reservations in the hotel is June 30, 2017 but you are advised to make reservations as soon as possible to ensure there is space for you and/or your group.

Holiday Inn Express Stony Brook

Address: 3131 Nesconset Hwy, Centereach, New York 11720

The hotel is located about 4 miles from campus. Shuttle service will be provided.

The rate for this hotel is $130 per night plus taxes.

Free overnight parking is available on the hotel property for guests.

You can make reservations by phone at (631) 471-8000 or online here and using the group code SEN (this is under “more options”). The deadline to make reservations is June 30, 2017.

On-Campus

SSI participants have the option of utilizing on-campus lodging in at Stony Brook University with other SSI participants. The last day to make a reservation in on-campus housing is July 7, 2017, but you are advised to make reservations as soon as possible to ensure there is space for you and/or your group.

We will be housed in César Chávez Hall & Harriet Tubman Hall.

All rooms are single occupancy in 4-person suites with shared restrooms.

On-campus housing is $85 per person, per night.

Space in on-campus housing can be reserved and paid for using the SSI 2017 registration form. The last day to make reservations is July 7, 2017.
